Hilton Garden Inn Mystic/groton

The rooms are typical for hiltons but this one was a bit pricier than usual.The reason this hotel gets 5 stars is because of the staff. The 2nd shift woman at the desk was very accommodating and friendly and hilarious. The 2 overnight staff were also amazing. When I went down at midnight to see if I could find something to help my sister who wasn’t feeling well, they were super kind offering to go look for room temperature ginger ale, juices that were out of stock and even offering their own person Tylenol and mint tea, which they did not sell. That meant so much.

Convenient location and the accept dogs! Way over priced for the level of room and service. On top of that, breakfast is not included. The King mattress was really bad. Had little form, felt like it had been around for decades. They gym is a nice space, is well equipped (including a Peloton bike), but one of the elliptical was not working and the other was making way too much noise.

My wife I stayed overnight for a short but sweet couple retreat. The staff we encounter were friendly helpful. And the location of the hotel to surrounding restaurants, Mystic Casino was great. The amenities like the pool open sitting area was also good. The unfortunate down fell was the bed shower, they definitely need to upgrading. The bed was old and squeaky the shower was old dated high old tub. Unfortunately, my wife was constantly uncomfortable in the bed, and with the cost of the at $300+ the expectation are higher.

Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. We ended up in the middle of a wedding party. After one loud(er) night, they had no issue moving is off the floor and away from the party. Very dog friendly hotel too!Rooms: 4/5

Neighbors had a child that would not stop crying. I understand that babies cry but on vacation getting woke up at 6:30 is not the most ideal situation. Don’t get me started on the what sounded like a frat house next door as well.The outlet plug is hanging off the wall and the back of it is all exposed. Not a fire hazard or anything!!There is also a brown stain (pretty self explanatory) on the desk seat as well as a red stain (also self explanatory) on the pull out chair. And don’t get me started on the white streak (disgusting) on the 3rd chair. Won’t be getting me to stay here again that’s a promise.Safety: Not knowing what these stains are is definitely not going to be the safest route to take.
