Bidrage med feedbackOccasionally, business takes me to or thru Greenville. Whenever that happens, I make a point to have lunch at Sherman's. This was my first time to visit the new location. And the plate lunch of pork chops, greens, rice and rolls was great!! Hit the spot as always. The staff was quick and friendly. I hated the old location burnt down but was relieved that Sherman's found a new place down the street and continues its fine service to the Greenville community.
Love the redfish and the gumbo! Excellent food and very friendly staff will always have me coming back. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting with an understated elegance. Hope you enjoy your meal as much as I did. Favorite place to eat in the Delta.
Sherman's is a must in the Delta when you want: An expansive menu of goodness of all sorts; Prompt, friendly service with a low-key but comfortable setting; Well-balanced and creative adult beverages; and great value for a quality dining experience. First, finding the place south of downtown is easy and plenty of parking right there Then it is a family place, no doubt, but also appropriate for a business dinner, as my colleagues discovered. Service is attentive but not intrusive. There are several excellent appetizers but Sherman's hot tamales--they have a bit of a kick--are my fav. My group had the cauliflower-crust pizza (not my thing but they loved it) and the grilled grouper, another thumbs up. I really recommend the catfish platter--three large, crunchy but fresh filets. Very tasty, with the fish not the crust dominating your taste buds. Oh so filling. And they have one of the best side salads in the country--not just a bit of lettuce with two cherry tomatoes--love it.
As soon as I walked in, I recognized the name from on TV. The entrance area was clean and our party of 7 was greeted and seated promptly. They have live music which was at the right noise level. I can 't remember the waitresses name, but we sat underneath the Sherman 's sign and it was 7 pm on Saturday night. The waitress was quick to take our drink order (which was much appreciated). There is a full service bar, so I ordered a Bees Knees and it was perfect. The Shrimp and Grits were well worth it, but I saw all kinds of delicious looking entrées at my table from Chicken Fried Chicken to Shrimp Alfredo to South Main Chicken Grill to Roasted Salmon and Gulf Shrimp. I overdid it once I ordered Bread Pudding, but we sure left full satisfied! The ambiance, noise level and hospitality definitely made me want to return on my next trip. Hats off to the waitress and management for such a great experience at this location.
Horrible food and the service was terrible. I think this place burned down because the grease trap wasn't cleaned for decades.
