Sakura Ichiban - Greensboro

I probably would not return. If I could I would have given a 2.5 star rating, but given that is not an option I have rounded up b/c the staff was so friendly and attentive. The building and decor are showing their age, but the place is well kept and clean. Aside from the seaweed salad, which was hard to finish, all the food was decent but a little bland (had a variety of appetizers, several sushi rolls, and two of the Thai main dishes) . As noted by some other reviewers the place is eerily empty (6:30pm on a Saturday), but I now get why there is nothing standout about this restaurant.

Great food sushi is well and staff is super sweet I will be returning! I got the California roll and spider roll which is in the photo. Miso soup is delicious and rice is fluffy and hot!

My co-worker and I were across the street taking a test for work and we decided we needed some lunch. I yelped a few places knowing that we both love sushi. We saw this restaurant was very close to the testing center so we decided to stop in. As other reviews state the parking lot was empty, but we decided to take a chance (and I 'm so glad we did! I will say I was a little skeptical when we walked in around lunch time on Friday and NOBODY was in the restaurant but I went with it. We were greeted right away and sat in a booth. Now to the food! I am so picky about Miso soup and this one was fabulous, warm and comforting. My co-worker and I love spice so we decided to split the volcano roll, spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll. The volcano was out of this world. Honestly one of the best rolls I 've had and I eat sushi at least 2-3 times a month at different restaurants. The little crispers on the roll were so crunchy and gave wonderful texture and the flavors were out of this world. The tuna and salmon were good as well (your typical roll the sauce was a little different on top seemed like a Sriracha and mayonnaise combo almost (I could be wrong . Don 't let the parking lot fool you. This place is clean, friendly and incredibly tasty! I doubt I go back to Greensboro anytime soon but if I 'm in the area I would eat here again!
