Ellen's On Front - GREENPORT

Pretty place but no real private tables for two. Food might have been good if it came out like we ordered it. Mine too well, her’s too rare. But the service? Arrogant doesn’t begin to describe it. I wanted to ask if I had done something to **** them off because they ignored us from the moment we got there. But I had just walked in!! The only reason we went is because everything else in Greenport is closed on Wednesday. Next time I’ll plan on cooking. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Table for 11 in a quiet nook just past the bar was perfect for us. Service was very friendly as the waitress came out to ask if we wanted the kids food first we did. Then we waited a very very long time for the rest of the food. Oversight in communication between the staff was quickly resolved once the mistake was realized (almost an hour later), and was made right on the back end. Food was good. High praises for the shrimp lettuce wraps, the ribs, Korean fried rice, string beans and streak frites. We didn't drink and skipped dessert and the bill was beyond reasonable. A very lovely spot on the main drag.

Ordered food for takeout and was charged 15 percent for tip. The woman who finally took my order was a grouch and didn't mention the tip until I paid. The fried chicken takeout box fell apart when i took it out of the bag. No utensils or napkins provided. Price of food is high. Ellen is sweet and only reason I might go back again.

As always, Ellen’s never disappoints! Delicious food, attentive staff, immaculate restaurant.
