Bidrage med feedbackI was really excited to see a new Mexican restaurant open nearby, but in the end, I was quite disappointed. The fajitas were just okay, the salsa was too watery, and the tortilla chips seemed overly greasy. I had high hopes when I saw carnitas on the menu since I love trying them whenever I visit Mexico. I have fond memories of enjoying delicious carnitas at Carnitas Uruapan in Tijuana, and I was hoping for something equally tasty here in the eastern US. Unfortunately, what I received didn't come close to those standards. The service was also lacking. Although our server was friendly, they made a mistake by bringing a large sangria instead of the small one I ordered, and the guacamole we requested never arrived. At least we weren't charged for that error.
After being moved to another table, we placed our order, and things seemed to be on track again. However, while we were waiting for our food, a large painting fell from the wall, nearly hitting a customer nearby. At the same time, our waitress slipped on the previously spilled water and hilariously flew horizontally into the adjacent table. It was a surreal moment that left us in disbelief. Despite all of this, we remained hopeful when our food finally arrived. The portions were generous and the food itself was good. Overall, though, the experience was disappointing. I understand that they were understaffed, which likely contributed to the mishaps we encountered. However, I believe that if you're charging premium prices, the service and atmosphere should match. Part of me wants to give Triny's another chance, as I don't think we got to see their best side. Ultimately, while the food was enjoyable, the experience didn’t warrant a return visit. For a better Tex-Mex meal, I would recommend Azteca in Sterling, which offers equally tasty food with much better service and prices. I truly wanted to like this place and still hope to discover a more favorable Tex-Mex spot in the future.
