Kiowa Kitchen - Great Bend

Although we don't live in Kansas, we always make it a point to visit Kiowa every time we're in Great Bend to see friends and family. The service, food, and menu selection are all excellent. Without a doubt, it's the best Mexican restaurant in Great Bend.

This restaurant has been a staple in Great Bend for decades, and it continues to serve excellent food. We visited on a Friday night and were seated quickly. The service was outstanding, and we left with smiles on our faces. I was impressed by the number of staff they had, all of whom were energetic and cheerful. The menu features American Tex-Mex cuisine, and it's executed very well.

The restaurant is permanently closed. I drove there only to find it shut down, so I wouldn't recommend wasting your time visiting. It's disappointing, especially since it had the highest Yelp rating.

The food is not bad American style Mexican with not much variety, but overpriced especially considering the inexpensiveness of the ingredients. They charge extra to use a card and the prices keep going up. The upkeep of the restaurant itself is not great. The carpet in the place is a shame in a place where people eat.

Terrible Service. Walked in, hostess said she didn't have any open tables and she didn't know how long the wait would be. We watched 2 tables of people leave. Hostess cleaned the tables and never sat us. Meanwhile the cashier had her head on the counter and just started at us. 15 min later we left.
