Exeter Bakery - Gravelly Beach

We tried the Pie with vegan cheese and it was probably the best pie we have ever had.

This bakery has a wide range of cakes, breads and pies. It all looks good. The cakes are fresh. The coffee is good. The pies are excellent - especially the chicken and camembert one. I didn't like the Thai one much but the regular meat one was also good. A very worthwhile place to stop at any time of the day.Service is good but they tend to clean around you if you come in the last half hour before closing and that's not nice.

Pleasant service and nice coffee, but my banana cake cheesecake was a bit stodgy. The back room area looked a bit unkempt and wife didn't like someone stiring up the dust with a broom while we were trying to have our drinks. Be careful in the carpark too. Some of the potholes are huge!

The Exeter Bakery is a fabulous stop if you love a good bakery. It sells you stock standard bakery items but also has an extraordinary range of very tasty pies - both in individual size and also family take home jobs.I love the sandwiches and rolls - pre made at the beginning of the day, they include unusual options that take the boredom out of the average salad roll. We always stop when we are passing through Exeter and have never been disappointed with their range and quality.

The Exeter Bakery has a great range of pies, sausage rolls, cakes and everything you would expect from a great local bakery. Expect to wait during busy times for service and a table if you want to eat in. The pies are delicious especially the chunky beef. A bit pricey but the food and service (almost) justifies the cost.
