Flour Garden Bakery - Grass Valley

I ordered a green juice. Cucumber, celery, parsley, ginger. It came out brown. I asked if she put something else in it. ?No?. I said I was wondering why the colour. ?O, beets were done earlier today?. So they don?t wash the machine between juices. It only takes putting a cup of water thru to clean the machine and not contaminate. I?m glad I don?t have a allergy to beets tho I specifically order an all green juice to not have the sugar in carrot, beets or apple. She seemed tobe bothered I was asking.

Everything is made fresh, with real ingredients that you can find in a regular store. No dough conditioners, preservatives or other junk here!

Her attempt to enforce the establishment’s rules was not accompanied by any politeness. The last time I was there, she stuffed all my belongings into a garbage bag along with items that belonged to someone else. When I left with only my things, she even asked if she could throw the rest away. I suggested she should ask the rightful owner first, and her reaction was a dismissive twirl, clearly annoyed that I challenged her actions regarding my belongings. In contrast, every other employee at this place has been fantastic. Unfortunately, this particular manager made my experience so unpleasant that I am certain I won't return. Both times I visited, the place was not busy—around 80% of the seating was available. Her justification for the policy was that unattended items make her responsible and prevent other patrons from finding seating, but those issues seemed irrelevant since I could literally touch my bag from where I stood and there were plenty of open seats. I will not be coming back to this establishment due to this interaction, especially since she was extremely rude, while I barely said anything. It's clear she simply didn't like me. Well, I feel the same way about her.

For 20 years, Flour Garden was my favorite place to visit whenever I was in town. However, in recent years, it has become overwhelmed by the presence of homeless individuals. I no longer feel safe sitting outside and have to carefully plan my exit to avoid encounters with those loitering near the front door. As a result, I've been compelled to take my business elsewhere.

This charming little bakery is an absolute gem! The customer service is friendly and welcoming. The variety of baked goods they have is unmatched in the area. The blueberry Danish was incredible, and the ginger snap and chocolate chip cookies were equally fantastic! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to sample more treats!
