Bidrage med feedbackThis diner is a block of a large number of hotels. a classic diner. really delicious food. we had the pork chili verde, chopped steak (approximately tender) and the tenderest hash brunettes I have ever eaten. the diner has a sign when entering “The Best Piece in America”. bold statement. the diner didn't lie. we were wolfing the lemons. highly recommended.
Food and service was great. Best waffle and biscuits we have had in a while.
I had the chicken fry steak dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that they had the Wisconsin cheddar soup always my favorite...especially in a bread bowl( not at vi though) the Texas toast was buttered and seasoned well. And the gravy was peppery and creamy. I didn't like the mash potatoes though-(I think they are instant) not a fan. I shared a slice of coconut dreamy creamy pie with my nephew. It was clean, customer service was pleasant, well priced and I like that there was a sign saying Happy Mothers day to all the mom's. If I could make a suggestion it would be to serve bread bowls with the Wisconsin cheddar soup and to add pork chops to the menu.(They could be fabulous)
This Village Inn in Grand Junction, CO was about 3 mikes off the main 70 interstate (Horizon Drive). Quite a few eating establishment in this area. We Ordered Cobb salad and chicken avocado sandwich. Barak was our server and did an excellent job, also great character. Salad and sandwich were very good, emphasizing perfectly fresh avocado. Basis soups were good except a bit on the warm (not hot) side. Bought a slice of apple cherry pie to go. These were also very good, but could have been a bit bigger slices. We prefer Village Inn and Crackle Barrel when traveling in between fast food for healthier, home style meals and their prices are very reasonable.
