Bidrage med feedbackThis is a typical chain coffee shop with reasonable prices. It's quite popular among Canadians, although it's actually owned by a Brazilian company. The donuts are mass-produced in factories, then frozen and baked at the stores—this process is curiously marketed as 'always fresh.' Since the introduction of this 'always fresh' concept decades ago, the quality of the baked goods has significantly declined. Another downside is that the baked items are not nut or peanut-free. On the bright side, the coffee is excellent, and the establishment is usually clean and safe; most locations also offer a drive-thru option.
I was greeted by an employee named Debbie, and the supervisor took my order for a chocolatine and the new apple fritter with chocolate drizzle. However, they just tossed two chocolatines into one bag and put my desserts with drizzle in separate bags, which was disappointing. I showed the situation to Debbie, and she kindly replaced them with two new ones in timbit boxes. Thank you, Debbie, for saving this customer service experience, as the supervisor didn't seem to care about how my sweets were handled.
The franchise was founded by Miles Gilbert “Tim” Horton, a well-respected defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Born in Cochrane, Ontario, Tim was the first child of Ethel Irish and Oakley “Oak” Horton. He had a deep love for both his country and ice hockey, showing remarkable talent from a young age. In 1948, he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and moved to Toronto to play junior hockey. Later, he made his mark in the professional league, playing for teams like the Pittsburgh Hornets, New York Rangers, and Buffalo Sabres. Tim Horton was known for his strength and composure on the ice, contributing to multiple Stanley Cup victories. Beyond coffee and beverages, Tim Hortons now boasts an extensive menu of baked goods, including donut holes (known as Timbits), muffins, croissants, biscuits, cookies, and bagels. In the mid-1990s, the franchise expanded its offerings to include flavored cappuccinos, iced cappuccinos, cheesecakes, and a lunch menu featuring soups, chili, and submarine-style sandwiches.
Overworked, miserable employees. Obviously understaffed, but a simple acknowledgment that I was standing there at the front of the counter for 10 minutes would have been nice. Never going back.
