Henri-Philippe - Grainau

Henri philippe is clearly positioned as a high-end restaurant that they serve to eat not only pizza or wizard carving. eating was good, but it wasn't important to bash. the prices of the appetizers were a bit strange: if they take a 3-course menu, the prices in the menu are given as appetizer 8€, main course 20€ and dessert 9€ for a total of 37€. if they don't take that dessert, the price of the appetizer suddenly increases to 18€ (not specified in the menu.) the salat was ok, but it was certainly not 18€ salat. this felt a strange trick to draw their customers especially in a finer restaurant. the view from the terrace is great.

The restaurant itself is nice and cozy with a beautiful scenic view over the mountain side. Our waitress was exceptionally attentive and friendly. We had their 3-course menu two nights in a row and every single course was great. Fresh, local ingredients prepared in traditional...but not boring dishes. We can definitely recommend this place!

We had a 4-course menu. the food was excellently prepared and also the service. the atmosphere was nice and cozy, perfect to go with the food.

We've been on this hotel for years. in the did, we had breakfast on the terrace when O.J simpson ran from the police in his premises, and randomly, when the judge of the jury came in his process. we have been there for several times. it has wonderful eating, friendly peculiarities, a swimming pool, and is located the small village grainau outside of Garmische-Partenkirchen. we had a very comfortable room with a balcony. there is a beautiful hiking trail over the road that leads to a hotel further down the road and another much longer behind the hotel. we went to the city on one of the weekend evenings, where there were local singing and dancing. Unfortunately, we haven't been there for a few years, as our trip in Germany was braked, but travel advisor wanted me to finish the review. the earliest date I could put on the review was august 2015, but we haven't been since about 2013.

This hotel is proud of the quality of its food and too right. in the valley at the foot of the alps, it serves first-class food and is a great place to finish a walk of garish
