Mexican Grill Rio Verde - Gonzales

Came to this place to eat and celebrate Cinco de mayo visiting from out of town. 1st could only order from a special menu not the full menu, meat was dry and cold. Taco salad was basically in a plate full of grease from the ground beef. Asked for the manager and he or she never came to table. The waiter told us we have other people in here to wait on. The WORST WORST experience ever.

We usually come here weekly taco Tuesdays) for tacos and chips with queso. The prices are a real bargain on Tuesdays. Dine in tacos $1 and to go $2. The servers are always friendly and easy going. The food is delicious ?.

Food was great, and so was the service. My hubby enjoyed the adult beverages. Best guacamole I've ever had.

Very expensive, food was just okay. 2 tacos a chimichanga, 1 coke and small margarita was $70. Margaritas were not good didn't drink it. But i had to pay for it. Waitress couldn't understand us had to get someone to help take our order which wasn't special.

Restaurant is very nice, colorfully, comfortable; menu full of choices, drinks great... BUT.... at the time to pay we find out they charge 1 tip 18% and still there was an empty line for tip. They said that's automatic charge for parties 6 or more. We were 2 adults and 3 kids. That's 5. Also, the restaurant keeps 50% of the tip and the other 50% is for the server. WHAT? The couple servers we talked about the tip beg us not to publish this situation because they gonna be reprended for the owner and eventually they can loose their job.What is wrong is wrong, and also this should be illegal.I will look for an office that can straight this up in the city government. This has to stop.
