Leader's Fried Chicken - Gonzales

I dine at Leaders at least twice a month since the new owners took over. The food is fantastic, and the customer service is excellent. I even think the chicken is crispier than it used to be. The onions are still wonderful. I can't comment on the other menu items, however. My only suggestion is that I'd love to see them expand the menu to include spicier chicken! I visited the restaurant for the first time since the new owners took over, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The rice dressing, which used to be excellent, was not good at all this time. We ordered onion rings but received a large serving of fries instead. The chicken was overly greasy, making it inedible. It's really disheartening to see a local favorite decline like this. Even though I placed my order in advance, I still had to wait for the onion rings. I won’t be returning.

The quality of the food is very good to excellent, but the service speed leaves much to be desired. I visited tonight to pick up a takeout order of 8 pieces of chicken and onion rings, and it took me 50 minutes to finally leave with my order. I noticed several other customers experiencing long waits as well. This isn't the first time I've encountered such delays. Since new management took over, the wait times have become unacceptable.

Can’t get what you order. Food is cold and soggy. Service is horrible.

Chicken done right. Never had a bad meal from there, always hot out of the oil. very good, very fast.
