Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant is located just before the intersection on the navigation, with an entrance on the right side after passing the T-junction. They have been running a tea house here for 8 years, and their specialty is grass mochi. Despite being aware of the Miyagi Zao Royal Hotel nearby, I had never noticed this hidden gem. Run by an elderly couple who have appeared on a TV show called 'Paradise of Life', their way of living is something to be proud of. The tea house also houses a kimono remaking store run by the wife, with many work robes made from kimonos on display. The grass mochi, sprinkled with soybean powder, has a gentle and warm flavor. They also offer light snacks like Shirakawa noodles, coffee, and desserts, including sweet red bean soup. The overall taste is mild, and the Shirakawa noodles are lightly flavored, making it suitable for the elderly. It's a hidden spot where you can relax in the forest and the wife will happily chat with you about the remade work robes. If you have a preference for kimono remakes, this place might be perfect for you. There are many fans who love this place, and I think it would be lovely to visit during the seasons of fresh greenery in the spring and beautiful autumn foliage.
I was planning to eat cold udon noodles the day before, but today the temperature is 12 degrees and it's cold! I ordered warm meat udon noodles with grass mochi on the side. It came with pickled turnips and umeboshi. I was surprised to learn that the umeboshi is soaked in vinegar and mixed with shiso without using any salt. The grass mochi was chewy and had a gentle flavor of kinako powder. It was delicious! There were recycled kimono products at the back of the restaurant. The kimono can be worn without a sash, with the top and bottom separated and the bottom becoming monpe pants! There were also decorated bags, and it was lovely! Next time, I want to try the cold udon noodles, of course with grass mochi on the side!
I went for the first time and the garden was wonderful. It is said that the owner made it himself, and the garden stones and trees are truly amazing. The interior of the restaurant uses an old Japanese house with thick beams on the ceiling, and the floor and walls are made of solid wood boards. The main pillar is a thick zelkova tree, and the tables are made by slicing a large wooden log about one meter in diameter. The food was also very delicious. It's a restaurant that I want to visit again and again.
