Bidrage med feedbackBenihanas has doubled in price. 2 adult meals and 1 kids dinner turned out to be $188, and that was with the $30 bday coupon. On top of that, there was an additional $58 in fees. Everything was double taxed. I paid a beverage tax, and a wine tax. Two service fees, a food tax, 2 food service fees. The food and service alone isn't worth all of the additional fees.
I'd not been to Benihana in a very long time, and the experience was almost as good as I remember it. The chef you get makes all the difference. Our chef was good but not great, while the chef at the table next to us had his crowd dancing and cheering and he was performing before our chef arrived and well after ours had left. The service was fine and the food was good.
The food was really good. The service wasn't very good. We had to wait about 45 minutes after our reservation time to eat and weren't offered any beverages for 30 minutes. The restaurant was busy, lots of families with young kids. It was very loud. The tip was added into the bill automatically. I don't think I'll be back, one non alcoholic and delicious drink one dinner of steak shrimp, $75.00. too high of a price for the very inattentive staff good but not amazing food.
Went for dinner last night. Surprised to see the sign on the door, announcing the 20% service charge. This does not go to the staff. Over and above the price of your food and tip. But I look at it as I ended up being forced to tip 40%. Not cool. Another group was seated near us a few minutes after we were seated. Their chef came first. We were given salad and soup with one round of beverages and then sat for 40 minutes. Brought it to the hostess attention and she did not care.in all fairness, the food was very good. But probably I will not go there again. I can afford to pay the extra 20% but I don't think it's right. Not a good use of my money.
Had an 8:30pm “reservation” with my 10 year old to celebrate her doing so well on her school tests only to be told after an hour of waiting that “it’s gonna be a little longer we are short staffed and really busy”. Then the manager comes over and says “if you stay we can give you 40% off”….no estimated time of a chef or anything just that… I take my daughter here weekly being its her favorite spot and now at 9:42pm I have to figure out what to feed my daughter after sitting in this establishment, drinking miso soup and staring at strangers for over an hour?…I’ll never go back there again.
