Sukhumvit Restaurant - Gold Coast

The pros Food is good and well priced. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Dessert was complimentary. The cons There is really no ambiance here all lights on and waitstaff (Asian) wearing some sort of shower cap. Sensible but not very attractive. The owner visited the table a dozen or so times, each time emphasising how fresh the food was no MSG. A little less would have been nice. We had to ask for water with the meal it 's usually put on the table early. The bill however, came out as soon as I had finished my meal (plate taken away before my companion finished). Might be nice to wait until both diners had finished particularly if they wanted to open another bottle of wine or order dessert/coffee. Suggestion: invest in some lamps and perhaps some Thai/Asian music; get a few more Thai paintings or bits and pieces and hold back a little on the chat with customers.

We love Sukhumvit, owned by the one lady for many years. Provides cheap lunches and takeaways before 3pm, so great if you want to get something for dinner. Or even better, dine-in, with plenty of parking at the Sorrento Shops precinct. Never disappointed here.

This is the third time we've been to Sukhumvit since change of owners and each time the food has been excellent. We can't work out why there aren't more locals here. It's a great local restaurant.

The Sukhumvit Restaurant in the Sorrento Shopping Village on the Gold Coast has delicious Thai cuisine. A large group of birthday guests celebrated a 60th birthday here recently. Interesting Thai decor and owners. The group paid a good set price for the evening. Consisted of 8 Thai courses in all 5 entrees and 3 mains. Well presented and tasty spicy and flavoursome. Our group 35 of us) almost filled the restaurant . One table for other patrons who also enjoyed our festivities! As well Sukhumvit were busy with takeaway orders ! The entrees arrived speedily and we all shared the delicious nibbles. Mains were pork and chicken dishes curry and interesting Thai spices with rice on the side. Fried ice cream for dessert followed by a large birthday cake bought from an adjoining business in the shopping centre . Wine was all BYO with an extra $2.00 corkage per person. Parking outside restaurant.

I could not rate this place high enough. As soon as we walked in the door last night, we felt so welcome. The customer service was exceptional. For entree we had the gnocchi (not pictured) and then for our mains we shared the penne ragout, cannelloni, and pollo pesto pizza. EVERYTHING was 11/10. The flavour was amazing. The pizza is definitely the best pizza we’ve ever tried. There was entertainment as well and the singer’s voices were beautiful. Thank you for such a wonderful night. We will definitely be back.
