Bidrage med feedbackThis was a great find two minutes from our apartment. I can highly recommend this restaurant. The staff and food are superb, live music Friday nights. Great start to the weekend. Thank you????.
We always make a point of eating here are least a couple of times on our visits to the Gold Coast. Tucked away on the Isle of Capri ( you can easily walk there from Surfers, uber, taxi or catch a bus), this italian restaurant has terrific Italian food without the grease or oily after taste. Their pizzas are a delight ( or try the pizza bread starter); we can never go past the calamari which is melt in the mouth beautiful, and the meatballs served with home made sour dough is always a hit. The meals are well proportioned but impeccably flavoured and seasoned; if you are not over hungry, try two entrees instead. A great wine list with wines by the glass; Italian and Australian with some other interesting choices as well. Outstanding service in a lovely sophisticated restaurant with terrific ambience. We'd recommend it for a romantic dinner out, or a great place to catch up with friends...and on a warm summer's night, go for the outside tables.
First visit to Cicchetti and definitely will not be the last. The fish of the day was delightful and service spot on. Having our wine decanted at the table added that extra little touch. Haven't tried the pizzas yet but both the rosa and garlic breads were very nice. Recently had lunch at Doyles Watsons Bay which was a huge disappointment and expensive, I enjoyed our meal at Cicchetti much better.
Overall, this restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with a score of 10 out of 10. The service was good, rated 8 out of 10. Unfortunately, the music was terribly loud and the band was awful. The pizza was not so great, with a rating of 4 out of 10 due to being too salty and having a wet dough. On the other hand, the pasta was delicious with a score of 8 out of 10.
They don't do gluten free pizza so I elected to have the g.f. chicken instead. It was so boring and barely warmed through with a sad, undressed salad and dry roast potatoes on the side. The others liked their pasta dishes but with a large noisy group at the next table it was an eat and run outing for us.
