Bidrage med feedbackWith a grain of salt, this IS a mountain town restaurant so maybe not much for those who ranked it highly to compare to. Wait staff was great. Prices were astronomical for food that was sub-par. $175 for 4 pasta plates, two glasses of wine and two beers. No protein dishes- just pasta. Vodka rigatoni sauce was like canned tomato soup with some cream. Carbonara was NOT carbonara- not in the delicious traditional sense. Pesto was probably the best, followed by gnocchi in short rib sauce. Everything needed pizazz. Or maybe salt. It was pretty bland. Overall, the faint club music and dim lighting paired with small portions does not a quality Italian restaurant make. Missed the mark with this one. Oh my gosh, I had the worst experience at Brava. I’m a long-time local and had heard good things about the food, so I was looking forward to trying it. More details below about the actual food/wine, but regardless, the behavior of the owner Vinny was shocking ! and would prevent me from ever returning. He berated me and was so rude and loud in his disrespect that the table nearby with kids left quickly to prevent them from seeing his behavior. It was humiliating and terrible. I’ve shared what happened to me with others and had two other long time locals say they experienced similar shocking disrespect and don’t recommend or eat at Brava anymore one who used to eat there weekly and was a loyal customer! . I do not encourage anyone to patron this restaurant based on how disrespectful the owner is to his patrons see similar reviews here as well . Ambiance: good, it’s a cute, small spot. Wine: surprisingly limited for an Italian restaurant! It was disappointing. I rep wine as a hobby and was really surprised that there were only four reds to choose from. Especially when there are wine bottles all over the walls. Food: some of it was very tasty, some was just ok. Don’t go here if you have any dietary restrictions or custom needs. The server wasn’t able to help us navigate the menu, the owner was too rude for us to want to ask for his help. I spent $120 for my date to eat 70% of the meal by himself while I watched. They have gluten free pasta as a substitute, but that does NOT mean you will have a gluten free meal. And no way around dairy either. Altogether, very disappointing. I should have walked out at the beginning when the owner was so disrespectful, but I still wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt. It wasn’t worth the money, the food/wine, and the treatment. There are plenty of other wonderful restaurants in Glenwood to enjoy. Dietary restrictions: They will not be able to accommodate very well, and may also embarrass you when you ask. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, it is in a downstairs unit. We went to this restaurant with my wife’s boss and husband as we were there for business. My wife greeted the waiter and told him it was our first time there and it was recommended. He was cordial at first. When my wife’s boss told him that we would need some separate checks (part for business and part for spouses) the waiter immediately changed. He said “we’ll deal with that later) and pushed for drinks and appetizer orders. When we were not sure yet, he just walked off and ignored our table for a long time. We finally ordered drinks and an appetizer but his demeanor was so rude. He seemed upset that we didn’t order alcoholic beverages. When he came for food orders, again, he seemed to get mad because we wanted to share (between my wife and I) a larger plate and sides. He pushed for me to order my own plate almost implying I couldn’t handle my own plate and my wife had to order for me. His comments were very rude. Had we not been with others, we would have walked out. Food was brought by another server and he also replenished drinks. We didn’t see our waiter until the check came and he just dropped off one bill for our entire table. When my wife’s boss reminded him about the separate checks, he said “just figure out what each one owes and get me cards!” What kind of service is that? He was told up front we needed to separate and he still just did not care. My wife’s boss was forced to figure out how to process a check with multiple plates that would not be covered by their employer. When he returned the check and credit cards, he just walked by and dropped them on the table and walked off. He clearly had all his attention on other patrons and ignore us throughout. We didn’t tip but unfortunately my wife’s boss did. Our tip to this management is get rid of him. We won’t go back. I shared our experience with the local shopkeeper who had recommended this place. She said that she knew who we had as our waiter and she avoided him too. She apologized for our experience and that waiter should have been the one apologizing. He should not be working with people. Was Super excited to have an amazing meal. Appetizer took forever to get to us. Asked how much longer, server checked with chef after an hour, and said it would be another hot second, we just then asked for our appetizer bill. The manager came back and said plates take time to make. We then asked the manager for our appetizer check, manager stated he didn’t have time for this. We left 20 bucks on the table and exited the establishment. Do not recommend, as we were treated poorly visiting this town.
