Shanghai Tea House - Glenside

Recently went to this restaurant for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised by the high standard of food. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was served in very reasonable time and the staff were extremely friendly. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other dishes. The restaurant is situated in the Burnside shopping centre and has tables outside for warm weather dining. Open daily for lunch and Thursday, Friday and Saturday night for dinner. Highly recommend.

Have had good food here most of the time. Service is good and on warm days it is nice sitting out under the big gum tree with a cold glass of champers. I enjoy the steamed yum cha and the Singapore noodles.

Although we regularly shop at the Burnside Village we had not eaten at this restaurant as it's tucked away out of sight. However we decided to try it today and it's now a favourite. The food was superb. The dim sims were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of the Crispy Beef and the fried rice. All tables seemed to be receiving beautiful looking food, so can't wait to go back and try something else. Decor was pleasant, service was good and prices fair for such high quality food.

Shanghai Teahouse used to be one of our favorite places to eat. The yum cha was always great, and although the service was sometimes a little slow, we didn't mind. Then a week ago we went for lunch. I ordered the dumpling noodle soup, which I'd had previously and loved. To my horror, when I cut open one of the dumplings it was filled with pink, gelatinous, uncooked chicken/pork. I let the waitress know, who seemed unsure about what the issue was. Eventually she took the dish back. Fifteen minutes later nothing else had come out and I had to get back to work, not to mention I'd lost my appetite. So I told them not to worry about it - to which they seemed cranky. No apology, no actions to suggest they were sorry for the gastro inducing dish they'd served. Needless to say, we won't be going back, which is sad because it really was one of our favorite places.

I can say that this Chinese restaurant really good. Service fine ,interior more look like Europe restaurant but this is + because very clean nice smell....Most important this is Food I was enjoying this dinner Soft shells crabs is yummy cooked in fresh deep fried , dumplings, noodles... were not so bad. If you want enjoy fresh Chinese food this is your place Recommend
