Bidrage med feedbackOh, my God! the absolutely best baked pieces of all time. I love sweets and try them from so many different places. but I must say I love absolutely everything they have here. they always welcome me so warmly. I love the whole atmosphere here. more and more.
I am not sure if I met the owner. Whomever the woman was that has helped me on two different occasions was the sweetest ever. This last order was small. We got a chocolate cannoli which was great with their coffee. Todays deal was spend $10, get free coffee. We also got two cheese rolls and a guava roll. And also a fruit tart. Everything was great and not too sweet. I will be ordering a cake next time I go!
I have a horrible experience with this place! The cake tested like rubber. We couldn’t serve it to people. We trashed it. Paid $120 for this horrible rubber cake! Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! It was my first and last time to this place! So mad that they ruined my daughter’s birthday. So upset.and whoever gave 5 stars to this place must be their relatives and Friends…That’s for sure.
Sunday funday means pastry! A friend and I did a tasting of so many beautiful pastry in this shop on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was very good (especially the Armenian treats! But some favorites: cream puffs, guava turnover, and the Armenian pizza . The folks here are so very nice and welcoming and clearly love what they do. Cant wait to order a cake or something from Maggie 's
Don 't think I would have ever known about Maggie 's if it wasn 't for browsing through Yelp to look for bakeries and other baked goods while I was in Glendale finishing work. Seeing the other ratings for Maggie 's cheese rolls and pastries and reading that people thought these were better than Porto 's! I knew I had to give it a try. Maggie 's is located on Brand, basically across the street from Porto 's. It can definitely be easy to miss if you 're driving down Porto 's but if you know what to look for, you might come across some of the tastiest baked goods in the area! I found parking on Brand which isn 't the best since there 's always a ton of traffic making it hard to back out, and the parking isn 't free. But I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Upon walking in, I was immediately drawn to their displays of baklava. Loved the different assortments that they offered! They also had some cake slices and other baked goods (cannolis, cream puffs, etc. I couldn 't resist and ended up buying more than I had anticipated. But I was pretty amazed with everything that I purchased. So first the cheese rolls. I don 't remember the exact price, but I believe it was less than $2 or right at $2 for one. These looked plump and pillowy with that glossy sheen on top it really drew me in, and I ended up purchasing two. These were amazing! And yes, better than Porto 's. The cream cheese filling was light and not too sweet, and the pastry was flaky and delicate yet had an added sweetness from the glaze on top. It was hard to not eat the entire roll right there in my car! Was a little regretful that I didn 't buy more than 2. I think I also got a mocha walnut slice, which was about $2.99 or so. My parents thought the cake was tasty and light. No qualms about the slice of cake, which was a win for me. And I ordered three different baklava I don 't really know the difference between the three, except that they were all priced at different price points. But they all tasted really good. I think I liked the egg roll looking baklava the most because it was super crispy. This I finished right away in the car. If I lived closer to Maggie 's, I 'd probably be back every so often to get my fill of baklava! Everything was crispy, sweet, and so delicious. tl;dr Don 't count out Maggie 's if you 're looking for baked goods (and cheese rolls! in Glendale. They do sell out of items, so it seems to be best to come earlier in the day. Will be back to try some other baked goods! Update: So I actually came back a few days ago to buy some more pastries because I had enjoyed everything that I tried the first visit; however, the second visit wasn 't as great as the first. The cakes in the display case were $2.50 each, but I realized after I had paid and walked to my car that the lady who rang me up had entered assorted pastries and upcharged me for $0.50 and $0.25 more. Felt a little duped because I probably would have bought something else if the price was $3 instead of $2.50. But the square Napolean was amazing super creamy and light. Unfortunately the chocolate mocha was on the dry side. Still enjoyed the cheese rolls and the raspberry cheese roll but was a little upset about the random charge.
