Bidrage med feedbackI?m told this is the best deli in Phoenix. If true then that?s very very sad. So far I?ve only found one deli in the Phoenix area that?s worth the drive but this place isn?t. It?s very average for a deli. Mostly because in all the meat on my sandwich (turkey and Swiss on marble rye) all I could taste was the lettuce. I will say the bread, marble rye, was good. Not stale. And the Arnold Palmer I got was amazing. (I wish I?d have known I wouldn?t be getting a refill before my sandwich came though). Not easy choking down a huge sandwich without even a water to wash it down. Anyway. I didn?t like whatever those onion ring things are called at all. And the ?chipotle ranch? that comes with is gross. I also tried the coleslaw and that was also a huge miss. Service was lackluster. One of my pet peeves is waiting. And waiting. For the check. I was hoping I?d finally found a real deli on the west side. I guess the search still continues. Side note: very expensive. And before you me with ?you should have ordered the pastrami?. Maybe so. But a good deli has multiple good offerings. Not just one thing.
This was the most awesome lunch we?ve had in our travels for the past four months. I?ve been looking for a kosher deli for all this time and finally found one! Yay! The Reuben Sandwich was to dieeeee for. The matzo ball soup was delicious. Hubby had the meatloaf which was superb. We took items to go because we just know they too will be amazing. Thanks to this AWESOME KOSHER DELI. We?ll be back before leaving town! Went back a second time. I had the Matzo Brie, latkes, bagel and lox and hubby had the corned beef hash and egg breakfast. Took a ton of leftovers for later. Can?t wait to return one more time before heading home. Came back our third and final visit and hubby had the liver and onions that he just loved. Thanks, Chompie?s, we loved you and are really going to miss you ?
We had a wonderful meal. Waitresses were friendly and the service was great. The food...well all I can say is...try it and go on an empty stomach ?
My wife and I were immediately impressed with Chompie's. It has successfully kept its New York roots despite being located in a mall in Glendale, AZ. The pickles alone are worth the effort and that is from a tepid pickle fan. Our entres were delicious and huge at a modest price. We liked it so much we came back the next day for brunch. I highly recommend this to young and old, singles and large families. You'll most likely enjoy it as much as we did. Oh by the way we ended up buying another $30 worth of pastries from their delicatessen cases at the front of the store.
I love Chompie's! We typically go for lunch and get the Jewish Sliders and the Ruben both which are absolutely amazing! But this time we tried them out for breakfast. Their portions are large and quality of food is great. My only disappointment was how the Lox was served. I figured the bagel would come put together with the Lox but was disappointed to find out that assembly was required. The positive is that you're able to assemble the bagel with how you prefer but the downside is that you're having to spend 10 minutes assembling your breakfast before you can eat it. Having said that, the Lox was delicious and the quality was superb! Just a bit of a pain to put together!
