Spruce Woods Motor Inn - GLENBORO

I've had many excellent meals here over the last few years. Daily specials add a lot of variety instead of the usual burgers and fries that most small towns seem to serve. Homemade soups were always awesome. Prices were reasonable and serving sizes good.

Trying to make clean and keep renovating. Higher than expectation when visited. But lower than nice hotel in town

We were on the road early and looking for somewhere to have breakfast. We pulled in to the Spruce Woods and were glad we did. It turned out to be a great spot for breakfast - and they had wifi, which was a bonus!

Stopped to have lunch and this appeared to be the best bet in town. It was a pleasant autumn day and we were travelling with a pet, so checked about ordering "to go". No problem. Service was very friendly. Took between 5 - 10 minutes...More

We stopped at the Spruce Woods Inn for lunch on our way to Spirit Sands to do some hiking & see the Manitoba desert.We were greeted immediately & told to sit wherever we liked. Menus and a pitcher of water arrived within a minute. The menu is not extensive but what one would expect from a small town hotel diner. There were a couple of daily specials as well. The restaurant was clean and well taken care of.My mother-in-law and I had the hot roast beef sandwich, my father-in-law tried the BBQ beef sandwich. The sandwiches do not include anything else and run approx 7.75 each. You can add on fries & coleslaw, mashed & coleslaw etc for 4.75 which I found a bit steep. I will add that the mashed potatoes were real as was the gravy and the roast was so tender you really didn't even need to use a knife to cut it. My in-laws ordered fries & their plates were so full they couldn't finish them. The dinner menu looked great as well.The service was excellent as was the food. This isn't an area of the province that I visit often but if I am ever out this way again I will definately stop in for lunch. It was really great. If you are heading out to Spirit Sands this is a great place for lunch or dinner.
