Nachos Cantina Mt Waverley - Glen Iris

It's been a past since I was here and was disappointed that it's downhill. Hopefully, only a bad night, so I'll give it another try, but this one will visit. Entree nachos came after the net.(45 minutes waiting)The service was very slow and eating was a little over boiled in some cases. good list of elements on the menu although and portion size as appropriate.

The service was excellent. I was sad that I could not finish my desert, or so I thought, until it arrived at the table. Food and service was amazing. The manager was the vibe of the house with great interactions with the customers which made the evening enjoyable and pleasant.We got the nachos with the pulled pork for the entree and it was probably the best pulled pork I had eating out. It was very tender and juicy while also well balanced in the flavour being not overpoweringly sweet or salty. The nachos were also very good with great balance of cheese to tortilla chips and was spread out evenly. It was very well thought out where the pulled pork was placed at the bottom to ensure that the tortilla chips do not get soggy.For the mains, we had the Enchilada New Mexico with beef and the vegetarian fajitas. Both of which were also great in their own right with excellent presentation and were full of flavour. The rice on both dishes were cooked well and had a nice subtle flavour without being overpoweringly salty, sweet or having too much spices like some Mexican restaurants. The beef in the enchilada was full of flavour and was also tender, but my previous encounter with the pulled pork had left me quite biased to preferring the pulled pork instead. Was too full to finish the taco on the dish however but will probably post another review on the next visit.I would probably go easy on the size of the entrees the next visit and probably have a main to share to be able to try their potato skins entree next time.Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian options available on the menu without having to go through special requests.Parking: Plenty of parking available at the venue when visiting but subject to availability. Parking is available on side street as well.
