Maize Mash - Glen Ellyn

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but there can be long wait times on busy days. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table, and once seated upstairs, we waited a long time for someone to take our order. When we finally did order, the cauliflower lacked flavor and the egg appetizer was disappointing. We decided to cancel our main course as we were not impressed with the appetizers.

I absolutely adored the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. This was my second time ordering it. The tables in this restaurant quickly become occupied within just 5 minutes of opening for lunch. If you want to secure a table, make sure to arrive before they open, especially on a Friday. However, there is plenty of bar seating available. The service was friendly and the food arrived promptly and piping hot. The fries were delicious.

We tried the short rib poutine and cauliflower tots, which we all found delicious. I ordered the Veggie burger with a side salad, and loved the crunchy mushroom patty and fresh presentation. The atmosphere at the restaurant added to the modern and cozy feel of the place, making it a great spot for a social gathering.

Stopped in after dinner to get drinks and dessert. We tried the craft cocktails: G.O.A.T. and Ain?t Nothing But A Hound Dog, and also had a Brownie dessert (added ice cream to make it into a Sundae! and although the drinks were not typical of what wenormally would order, we enjoyed everything else about Maize Mash! The ambiance, service, and the dessert were incredible! We were offered an opportunity to change out our drinks since they were stronger than what we are used to (beer or winedrinkers , but opted to stick through and continue sipping on them. To me, the G.O.A.T. has a definitive taste of meat off thegrill (from the bacon flavor and the Hound Dog required more of the Banana Liquor for me to continue to sip it. I willdefinitely be back as the food on the menu looks incredible, and I want to try their popular drink-Bubbles Bramble, as well asLady in the Purple Dress. I love bistros that put the dining experience on the level that Maize Mash has?food and drinks arethe experience, and happy customers is the goal. For a big city girl, this bistro in downtown Glen Ellyn has me HOOKED! Can?twait to return!

Stopped by after a long day of shopping. Such a good appetizers and drinks! The service was impeccable and the food was so good! Definitely a neighborhood gem
