Bidrage med feedbackThis cafe has been in Burke Rd for many years and this is the first time I’ve been back since Covid 19 meant the cafe had to ‘pivot’ to takeaway coffee and meals. On the topic of Covid 19, I’ve observed that old habits are creeping back into our way of life. The tables are again too close together (the manager actually separated a 4 seater table, moving it closer to me (without comment) to accommodate two men who just arrived. So I heard every word of their conversation. The cafe was not busy at this time). Another bugbear of mine is the post covid reintroduction of the sugar bowl/jar: no separate spoon is provided. Invariably, ppl dip their spoon into the froth of their coffee and then decide they’ll pop the spoon into the sugar jar. Eeek! I’ve seen it happen many, many times. I understand the desire to be sustainable not use individual sachets of sugar so what about introducing the sugar jars that have a spout? Or a shaker? Now to the food: the coffee was good. The scrambled eggs were okay (nothing special) the extra bacon as a $6 extra was cooked well. There were some other annoying things: my table wasn’t cleared from the previous diners (water glass, coffee cup remained on the table). My scrambled eggs plate was first taken to the table of 2 men beside me, I said it was my order it was then brought over to me without cutlery. Small annoyances I confess, but they add up. While I realise it is challenging for many businesses trying to recruit, train keep staff, there are some aspects that can mar the experience.
Very fast, couple good and drinks, great customer services. Would recommend if you are looking for a fast quality meal
The locals have known about this gem for years and continue to visit for a coffee catch-up and or one of their amazing breakfasts. Upstairs they can host and cater for events. Quality food and service.
Bustling, busy flat out Saturday lunch as always. Fabulous wait staff and excellent food. They are so accommodating. I had delicious corn fritters. So moist and delicious sides. Superb McLarenvale Shiraz. Nothing is too much trouble here. My friend on chemotherapy, so with special request, had a chicken and avocado multi grain sandwich. Perfect. Again nothing is too much trouble. Only concern was we were rounded up at 3.30pm and forced out. A bit of a shame as there were still a number of patrons enjoying themselves. Perhaps extend to 4pm on a Saturday? Otherwise faultless.
This cafe is on a busy road with cafes either side of them but they were the ones with the best trade and i can see why we were there for morning tea and the ham cheese tomato croissant was one of the best i have eaten the coffee was great and the other meals looked great too The service was quick then menu was not large but enough to choose something that we all liked The only down side i found being on a major road the traffic noise was loud but that was not there fault would go back here again
