Okami - Glen Eira

I had heard this all-you-can-eat Japanese was worth trying, and happened to get a Groupon voucher (which basically just included free house wines) so decided to give it a go. Look, it's obviously not a high end Japanese restaurant, but for $30 a head for all you can eat, I thought it wasn't too bad and I enjoyed everything I had. Not everyone I dined with agreed however. They thought the sushi wasn't fresh, and it was all a bit yuck. The service was also average - once they take you're initial order, they're not in a hurry to get back to you - we basically had to holler for them every time we wanted to try another dish. If you enjoy mainstream Japanese, give it a go. I would suspect most tables would be like ours though - some would find it OK value, whereas others would prefer to pay more for better quality.

My friends and I dine here on the 18th Sat March. Very good services, good food and very affordable. The place was very busy didn't have to wait long and eat as much as you can for 2 hours was fabulous. Thank you for the great night.

The place maximises on space by trying to squeeze in as many diners as possible. As a result, towards the end of the night, after you've eaten "as much as you can eat", it is very hard to negotiate your way around other diners.Not suitable for young children or prams, as there is very little room for moving around. Staff are very friendly. Food comes out fast.Best enjoyed in the company of family and friends.

We had Christmas dinner with the extended family and had a very enjoyable experience at Okami. A relative who had eaten previously at Okami ordered the food and without exception all the dishes I tried were delicious and very tasty, my favourite though would have to be the Beef Carpaccio, the meat was perfectly cooked and the Ponzu sauce just made it a very memorable dish.The service was attentive and friendly and helpful, and the price of $32.80 all you can eat, on Christmas day was just exceptional. When we return to Melbourne I would have no hesitation returning to Okami.

We visited this restaurant several times over recent months and have never been disappointed, Booking is essential as there are serving time slots / meal times.All you can eat from a tempting menu and the staff are very friendly. The venue can be a little crowded but this is to be expected with quality food and reasonable prices.
