Bidrage med feedbackDined here a few weekends ago and I must say, Kerabu is probably the best Thai restaurant I've been to in Melbourne. <br/ <br/ The decor is lovely and although we had to wait a little while for our table, the service was very hospitable and the food came out quickly once we ordered. <br/ <br/ We ordered the Thai Red Curry, one of the beef dishes (couldn't remember the name), a fried rice and roti. The thing that stood out to me the most was how succulent and high quality the meat in the dishes was. Many Thai places use low quality chicken in their curries, but this definitely wasn't the case at Kerabu. The vegetables were also so fresh, and the flavours were authentically thai. The roti was perfect, nice and crispy/flaky. 5/5 for everything ordered. <br/ <br/ Will definitely be back to see what else Kerabu has to offer!
Great service and decor! Very lovely experience. <br/ <br/ I had the stir fried tofu and veg! Delish. Kerabu are accomodating to dietary requirements and allergies too. <br/ <br/ Would definitely go back to try more dishes!
Had a pleasant meal at this popular East Malvern restaurant. A broad South East Asian menu is on offer. My table of three chose three entrees. First a delicious prawn avocado canape served on a crisp open wonton skin. It had a wonderful zing, spice crunch. The prawns were large juicy. Next was San Chow Bow, a lettuce cup filled with minced chicken, prawn, mushroom water chestnut served with hoisin sauce. This was my least favourite of the entrees as the filling was predominantly chicken while the other ingredients were lost indiscernible. The sauce did nothing the lift it. Finally we had the curry puffs filled with pumpkin, sweet potato other vegies with a delicious light curry flavouring. A light sweetish sauce was offered but wasn’t necessary as they had enough good flavour to stand alone. For main we tried the Kelantanese Malay salad which was very much like Thai papaya salad. Fat juicy prawns, shredded fruit herbs made a delicious tangy light meal redolent with hot, sour sweet flavours. Seriously good. Next was a mixed seafood stirfry with ginger greens. It looked rather bland pallid when it arrived at the table, however, the generous quantity of prawns, scallops white fish was very fresh, tasty light. The ginger was the dominant flavour but not over powering. Finally we had the sesame crusted duck. A really generous serve of moist, beautifully cooked boned duck with a mostly crisp sesame crust. It would have been for me a stand out dish but the sweet, vinegary sauce it was topped with got rather sickly sweet after a few mouthfuls. Even having steamed rice with it did nothing to relieve the rich sweetness. Overall the food was excellent. Service prompt attentive. The upstairs dining room with black walls was tastefully decorated. Will return to try more of the interesting menu.
I had a great dinner here last Friday. The restaurant is warm, inviting and the service friendly. Highlights were the Thai duck salad and the Sate, and we appreciate the gluten free options.
Had dinner here tonight. We were a party of 4 and were upstairs. Nice and spacious but we were placed right on the stair well so had cold draft for half the night till it got warm upstairs. Plenty on the menu to grab your fancy. We ordered the UdangKunit (prawns with turmeric, garlic, chilli and toasted coconut , Sesame crusted duck and the Gang Keow Wann Gai (Thai green chicken curry with veg . The duck was to be shared between 2. Unfortunately for some reason only the green curry and the prawns came out together. We waited for another 20 minutes for the duck. So needless to say the other two meals were now cold. Having said this the food was great. The green curry had just the right flavour and the chicken saw very tender. The prawns were also wonderfully cooked and were large and juicy with a lovely pan sear to them. I was told the duck was perfection : . I would eat here again for sure. Well done
