Cedar Creek - Glen Cove

I often find at Cedar creek. We have been there uncountable times including the past 3 new yrs Eve's. This time we invited friends and all of our food was not up to par as it always has been. The filet mignon was the last one left and it was horrible. A waitress that recognized us saw it on the table apologized and offered another entree. Skirt steak was the only option at that point. That arrived extremely tough and very disappointing just like the salmon and steak special. we usually order our favorite 2 pasta dishes which are always great but this time we tried new things are were disappointed with our meal.

It was New Year’s Eve and the restaurant was very busy. Service was a little slow but pleasant. The food was very good. My husband especially enjoyed the onion soup my recommendation based on prior experience. Delicious with melted gruyere and not too salty. We’ll go again!

We had 7pm reservations for New Year's Eve were seated immediately. Our drink order was taken delivered within about 10 minutes. So far things were great. Shortly after our very friendly server took our order for the 1st course main course, they had already run out of several items on the menu, it was only 7:30, poor planning. The 5 of us placed our dinner orders, as I said it was 7:30. Our 1st course came within 10-15 minutes not too bad. The beet goat cheese was good, but you really needed to look hard for the cheese. Another ordered the arugula goat cheese however they only had one instead of 3 goat cheese rolls left, charged half price. Should have charged a third of the price but I won't gravel. First course was finished in about 15-20 minutes, then the wait began. 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, we kept hearing any minute now the food will be out. In the mean time other tables that were seated long after us were served. Finally I asked for a manager guess what our dinner magically appeared. 60 minutes after we placed our order, no explanation no apology, it's not like the place was over crowded there were several empty tables, no excuses. We should been offered dessert on the house, but that did not happen either. My steak was cooked just the way I had asked for it, flavorful good size portion, but skimped on the side dishes. Another ordered branzino, very small filet, again very skimpy main course for the price. The pasta shrimp were tasty as well as full size portion. The coffee desserts were tasty, but as I said considering how long we waited for our main course it should have been on the house. It was a very long evening started at 7pm ended at 11:30. They need to get there act together, dont think I will be going back there anytime soon.

We usually love this restaurant but 3 out of our 4 meals were bad. (1) Portion for Branzino was tiny; (2) Salmon so overcooked it was hard to cut and dried out; (3) Burger ordered medium came med-rare to rare. Since our meals took so long to come, we didn't return them. It was new years eve but we had an early dinner and the restaurant was not busy until later in the evening.
