Bidrage med feedbackGreat food, poor service! It happened to be in this place in my friend’s birthday last night when we were not getting any option to dine out in Henrico and Short Pump, but when we landed to this place, out choice didn’t went bad! The food was yum, we ordered Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani along with Veg biryani, along with some sumptuous starters like Vegetable Pakoras Paneer Chilly. One specific point I didn’t like at this house is these people didn’t had all items mentioned in menu! But the taste was seriously superb, I mean the real taste of Hyderabad (Pakistan), long grained saffron coloured rice along with succulent chicken pieces. The service was little slack but food is great and in budget.
“Different taste..house like.. but not that great” <br/ <br/ I moved to Henrico last week and generally what I do first to search any biryani house near me excluding Paradise biryani pointe. That’s how I found Biryani city near Philly which is best so far.<br/ <br/ anyway coming to this, this is more like household rest where mother-daughter take care of all business and sometimes service goes slow down due to this. I ordered mutton biryani, they have 2 options, regular and family (yes, first time I heard this), of course, I went for regular, quantity is a bit less if you compare to another biryani joint. Taste wise it was good, more like Hyderabad household meal but somehow I did not like it. I was expecting more like restaurant type. (again, this is my personal view)<br/ <br/ Service got slow as only mother-daughter duo take care of everything, taking order-serving-take away-billing.. ambiance is okay.<br/ <br/ Tip- I guess if you are more than two, go for family size. It ll fall cheaper side.
On a recent visit to Fort Lee, my coworker and I agreed that we'd get Indian food before finishing the trip down south. Sure, Richmond has many Indian places to choose from, but for some reason this one seemed most convenient to us on a Sunday night around 8pm. The place is pretty dimly lit and dingy on the inside and the service is very slow when there is more than 2 tables sat (there were 7 by time we left, for 1 server), but overall the food was excellent and I barely whined at all that there was no buffet at that time of day for me to truly pig out on.<br/ <br/ I convinced my Dominican friend to get a tandoori dish just like I did and we were extremely pleased with it. The rice was more than enough to fill you up and the dish was spiced just like we asked for (he does not like spicy). I would rate this place as one of the better Indian restaurants I have ever been to and would recommend it to anybody else.<br/ <br/ One final note, however, is how strange it is to me that in the Richmond area, when it comes to ethnic food, they are literally grouped together almost like the city zones them together like that. Next time you're new in town and trying to find a Mexican, Indiana, Vietnamese, etc place, don't turn around if you just passed one, because one is going to be up the road in another block. In the case of Hyderabad Biryani House, there is literally another Indian Place three doors down from it and I have no idea why.
