Bidrage med feedbackI had been working in North West Glasgow one Saturday morning and needed a break before my next shift. The Bankroll Cafe was nearby, so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised to discover that it was not just a cafe but also a bar, restaurant, and club. I ordered a breakfast roll and coffee to go, which was quickly prepared and reasonably priced. The food was tasty enough, and I would definitely visit again if I needed a quick bite to eat while passing by.
Although this restaurant may appear charming at first glance, it is unfortunately a terrible place to dine. The food seems to be of low quality and poorly prepared. Cooking a decent meal should not be a challenge, yet this establishment seems unable to do so. I strongly advise those considering eating here to keep driving and look for another dining option.
The only positive aspect of this restaurant was the waitress who brought our drinks. The food was lukewarm, with the worst steak pie I have ever eaten and hard fish. The staff need to improve their cooking skills, and the manager kept avoiding responsibility for the poor quality of the dishes. The chips were inedible and the macaroni was even worse. I would not return to this restaurant even if I were offered a free meal.
Entered the bankroll yesterday. I believe there was a function on. The woman with purple hair behind the counter never greeted us in the slightest simply said you can’t sit in today. I said that’s fine can we take away? She nodded and gave us the menu. We then decided to order a couple of hot rolls. She then abruptly shouted NO HOT FOOD. I don’t feel I deserved to be spoken to in such a manner and was quite taken back by the way she spoke. Surely when I originally entered the cafe she could have said something like ‘ hello we have a function on today therefore no one can sit in and we are unable to serve hot food at the moment.’ Perhaps a class in plain manners would go along way!
I had my sixtieth birthday party in the bankroll cafe on Saturday 28th September. I cannot fault this place. The bar staff were very helpful and no one had to wait long to be served. I purchased their buffet which was of a really high standard and served exactly at the time I suggested when booking. DJ was great and definitely knew how to keep the party going. It is a little known venue but what a great place. Highly recommended.
