Bidrage med feedbackA last minute lunch visit and we ended up coming here as we had never been. The food was nice, it's good value and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had young children with us and my Aunt wanted to give one of them a belated birthday cake, which the staff assisted with
Visited recently on a voucher. Outside tables full and not so much space so we opted for eating inside. Much quieter. Staff friendly but could have had more on as we waited a while for service. Food good but not spectacular for the area. Menu did have plenty of food options. A pleasant lunch with friend but can't say would rush back for seconds!!!
We visiti this little Patio restaurant in Princes Square in the heart of Glasgow's busy town center. It's a great place to take the weight off your feet and have a really good cup of coffee. For launch or dinner my favorite is the veggie wrap. The soups are fresh and hearty. They even can offer gluten free bread if you are that way inclined. There are so many restaurants in this area but you won't go wrong here.
We had quite high hopes for this small bistro. The menu read well and it seemed to be filling a much needed space in the casual dining scene in a busy place. Mediterranean food was the promise, the reality was subtly different. To be fair, the sharing plates were ok but when it came to the mains things went downhill. I took the fish and chips (Mediterranean??? and the fish was over cooked and probably straight from the freezer. That would be the same freezer the chips were kept in. My wife took an interesting pasta dish, the main flavour ingredient being chorizo. Unfortunately the person who heated it didn't take the skin off the chorizo and it wasn't a high quality edible skin, it was an inedible artificial one that glued itself to the meat when it was heated. Lazy cooking. We gave up then and went across the way to Tinderbox for a decent coffee. Sorry, we won't be back even though the pasta dish wasn't charged.
My friend and I went on Friday evening. We had phoned ahead and were generously given a deal which had just expired. Two coureses for 2 people for 20 from the main menu, only a few exclusions. We sat at the outside part of the restaurant. The service was informative and friendly. We ordered the mussels and the humous to start, then the chicken skewers and the lamb from the frites menu. Everything was delicious although the lamb was slightly overcooked. We then ordered the cheese board, big mistake!! After ordering it the waiter came to tell us there was no cheddar and that the board would only have brie and blue cheese.. For us this was fine. However, when it came it had one tiny piece of blue cheese, thin slice of goats cheese and 2 thin slices of inedible brie, which turned out to be the rubberyist halloumi I have ever eaten. We picked at it then left it as goats cheese and halloumi is not my idea of a good choice for a cheese board. Told the waiter but he didnt seem in the least bit interested. We took our bill up to pay and told a second waiter, again not interested. Eventually I suggested it should be taken off the bill which she did do, although through gritted teeth. Its a shame as her service had been good and the rest of the meal had been good, which I did tell her. Its also a shame they just didnt say the cheese board was off.All in all it was a good meal that was great value, and sitting in Princess Square was very pleasant. Serving a poor cheese board was a mistake but not to rectify the mistake was silly. Would go back with an offer but not sure I would go back without one.
