Bidrage med feedbackBad value for money. Food options were standard and quality did not match the cost. Sausage and mash we're more like hard butter and plastic pork. You know you are in a struggling restaurant when they skimp on measures in a soda water and lime. Unless you are feeling brave enough to chew their tough meat and immediately hitting the dentist afterwards, I'd steer clear of the Lee Burn.
Having just been knocked back from another as yet unnamed restaurant for the second time, my lovely girlfriend and I decided we would come back here to satisfy our hunger. Having visited several times before and knowing that there wasn't going to be an issue accomodating us after 8, my mind was made up almost automatically. When travelling round the country I've been to quite a few of these Table Table restaurants. With them all I've always been greeted With a combination of comfortable and homely surroundings, a decent menu selection, good service and tasty food which looks like the menu. The best kind of pub grub. Being a Tuesday night When we arrived, the service was impeccable, with no wait to be seated, no delay in taking drinks orders and fast efficient delivery of our food. Service even came with a warning that the middle of the chicken might be hot and to take care. Also, during the evening (after 6 I think) they run a specials menu which has the option of 2 courses for £9.99 or 3 courses for £11.99. The specials had a varied selection of food ranging from burgers and salads through to a delicious chicken and ham pie. This time I had the chicken goujons with a caramel glaze, which was just delicious, followed up with the fish and chips, and the tastiest apple crumble with custard I've tasted. The pasta dishes and banoffee sundae also comes recommended. The beer garden outside looks like it could be a nice place to sit when the weather gets better and the premier inn next door could come in handy if the reasonable drinks prices prove to be too much of a temptation for any drivers. I'll be back here for sure. Location : 8/10 (only marked down a bit for the road running past the beer garden) Atmosphere and Surroundings : 10/10 Service : 10/10 Food : 10/10
Popped in for bite to eat on Satuday afternoon. Girl who took our order was pleasant and nice natured. Thats where the good points end. We ordered sausage and mash at just under £9 and 2 burger meals at £9 each. The sausages were tasteless and looked like they had been heat up a few times prior to serving. The mash was tasteless and probably out a packet. To be honest it looked like a microwave meal, heat up then transferred into a bowl. Then the burgers, again £9 for tasteless burger and fries is £6 more than another place i could mention and too be fair, they taste a lot better. In all, I was so dissapointed will never ever retun here. I would urge you to avoid unless you like way overpriced tasteless microwave food.
I came here for a beer and to drop off some leaflets for CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, who help support pubs and breweries throughout the country. However, the bar manager was very rude and would not stock our free newsletter (this is the first and only time I've heard of this in any pub anywhere) for their customers. The only beer they had on was Hobgoblin so I left, in shock. I can't comment on food and I think it's very unlikely I would ever return to bother to try it.
