Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely, without a doubt, if you come up Girdwood/Alyeska, you must stop here. We had brunch, but I can only imagine that dinner (the menu looked great) is amazing, too. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing. The staff had no problem seating us. We got: Croissant French Toast Excellent. 100% recommend this. Croque Monsiuer This was cheesy and great. Next time, I would share this and get another appetizer to share too.
I normally see the word bistro and cringe at the idea of wine and half-assed Restaurant Depot food, but Spoonline has officially created one of the most memorable dishes I 've eaten in my life. This place is legit. Alaska salmon with lemon risotto, snap peas, lemon parsley salad, and an add-on of large, caramelized Kodiak scallops $20). A $60 plate of food that you can actually feel good about eating and paying for. Menu rotates often here, and food came out quite slowly despite a mostly empty restaurant. Regardless, it was a meal worth waiting for. Service was kind, and the space heater on the patio made for a wonderful experience. Add this to the top of your Girdwood list.
We enjoyed Spoonline so much that we returned for breakfast after having dinner there! Steve provided live music, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The welcoming atmosphere enveloped us from the moment we entered, with a drink offer right away. While our table was being prepared, we relaxed on the porch with our cocktails, comfortably warmed by the heaters. As for the food, it was the best we had in Girdwood. We also dined at Jack Sprat and 7 Glaciers, which were good, but we felt Spoonline suited our needs the best.
The best French toast I've ever had. It was made from croissants! It was so tender! Served with warm maple syrup, real whip cream and a dusting of cinnamon. My husband tried the special, duck confit eggs Benedict. He liked his but preferred traditional ham to the duck. We also had a couple of mimosas to wash everything down. Service was excellent, environment was clean, cozy and art-y. They've got the new 49th state brewing sodas (pumpkin pie wild blueberry and huge cookies for sale too. Love this little place. The rotating specials and diverse (and delicious thoughtfully flavored menu will keep us coming back for more :
Once seated, we quickly received menus and a wine list, and water was served. We decided to start with Manila clams and an arugula salad. The portion of clams was generous, perfect for sharing, accompanied by toast points. The sauce balanced lemon/citrus, garlic, and wine beautifully, with a hint of minced ginger that elevated the dish—definitely something I plan to incorporate into my own cooking. The arugula salad was also ample enough for two, featuring a clean, peppery taste complemented by a light vinaigrette, topped with shaved almonds, dried blueberries, and feta crumble. It was delicious! We chose to share a bottle of McBride Sisters sparkling brut rosé, which turned out to be an excellent pairing with our starters. Our attentive waitress brought the bottle out in a chiller, popped it open, and poured for us. For our main course, I ordered the charred trumpet mushrooms with hot fennel chimichurri, roasted new potatoes, and carrot purée. This dish was spectacular—visually appealing, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. It was the kind of dish that inspires me as a home cook. I highly recommend it. I also added the fresh Kodiak scallops, which were tender, moist, and perfectly cooked. My partner chose the porcini pasta, a generous serving of creamy umami mushroom rotini that offered maximum comfort and left us with plenty to take home for the next day. Overall, I would rate this dining experience a 5, but I’ll hold off on a final verdict until I return to check for consistency in service and food quality. Please note that this establishment does not take reservations unless a larger party is being seated. I definitely plan to return sooner rather than later—it's well worth the hour and a half drive. Well done, Spoonline Bistro! I look forward to coming back for brunch. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4.
