Pension Gimmelwald

Gimmelwald is a small, quiet village, and this is the only restaurant and it is a good one. reserve before the room is limited and all meals are served around 19 o'clock and are what the cook does in this night. we had a completely...acceptable pork fillet with red and, in the next night, cheesefondue, served with roggenbrot and birne and a green salat from the garden. the children of the owner run around and it has a happy mood.

Stopped here for lunch. It has a limited menu but the food is good the service (Barnaby was our server) was wonderful. And do try the Schwarz Month Dark Swiss Beer; outstanding!

Although I did not stay at the hotel, I did enjoy the pre-fix dinner here one evening. Seating is at 7pm and that night consisted of a salad, main, and dessert. Very cozy inside and the food was served piping hot and was delicious. Great atmosphere.

The Schwarz Monch was refreshing after a beautiful hike. We enjoyed it so much that we returned just for it. The resident kitties are the gentlest souls, adding to the cozy ambiance. The service was friendly and welcoming, making our visits memorable.

Cannot comment on the rooms, as we finished our hike from Murren; and stopped at the restaurant for a nice dark Scharwz Monch bier! The views from the place are beautiful, and the best beer after an hour long hike in the Alps!
