Amc Riverview 14 - Gibsonton

We watched Sound of Freedom. Would have been great except for the three teen girls talking during the whole movie and taking selfies. I shushed them twice. Was prepared to get management. As we left was clear they were friends with at least one of the security team.

This place was super disappointing. My wife and I used to come here a couple times a month, but we moved away 3 years ago. We decided to do a day date and came here 2 weeks ago. Our movie started at 12:50pm. We got there and that great restaurant that used in there now only sells drinks, the only concessions they had were popcorn, soft drinks, some hot dogs , and some of the candy options on display. Literally everything else they said they ran out of. On top of all that we got to our seats and the armrests were just torn up. Also, there were cobwebs all around the project area. We went there to have a great time and make a fun afternoon out of it and it was very disappointing. We feel like we paid for a bad experience. How do you run out of stuff to the point that all you have to sell to customers is some hot dogs still but are running low, popcorn, soft drinks, and only a couple options for candy. The actual movie and sound quality was great but the movie going experience was terrible.

The movie was great. The theatre used to be nicer when it was new. The vinyl on the arm rests were all worn. The bathroom floor as wet with water or urine that I almost slipped entering the restroom. I had to rinse off the soles of my shoes when I returned home. There was a small fight between a black female and 2 white guys. I never saw armed security there in the past. There were at least 4 security guards there . They were all armed with Glock 9mm pistols in tactical low riding holsters. I guess there has been trouble in the past. I would only go to the theatre if I cannot stream at home.

Went to see Oppenheimer today Aug.2. This was the first time that I was in the theater. It is a great facility with great seats. I will not go back. The sound amplitude was so damn loud that I to plug my ears with my fingers the whole time I was there.

I saw a movie last Tuesday night so naturally it was crowded because Tuesday is discount night. They do have the nice seats that stretch out. But that was not the reason for the 2 stars. It's because the theater was so hot, I was sweating. And the popcorn was not hot enough. Plus, they don't have the Coke Freestyle so there wasn't much choice. Other AMC theaters are better choices like the one in Brandon.
