I would like to describe our experiences during our visit to the Kreuzwiesenalm. When we made ourselves comfortable on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 around 3 p.m. on the terrace of the Alm to enjoy the delicious food and drinks, we had no idea what was to come in the further course of the day. We were just about to make our way to the Rosenalmbahn when a threatening thunderstorm prevented us from doing so. The cabin staff advised us to stay with them which was a very good decision. Due to a large-scale power failure, the mountain railway was now out of service and a descent into the valley due to fallen trees was currently far too dangerous. However, the employees were already planning how the few remaining guests could be transported safely down to the valley. After the storm was over, we were taken as far down the valley as possible in a car. Various routes were tried as the roads were blocked by fallen trees. Finally we came to a slope where a relatively safe descent was possible and we arrived safely in the valley. What I want to make clear with my report: We are totally enthusiastic about the service and above all about the sense of responsibility of the employees of the Kreuzwiesenalm. Many thanks to Josef, who only released us from his car when he was sure that the descent was manageable (and didn't even want to accept a tip). Despite the threatening situation, it was a nice experience for us to meet such nice people. Many, many thanks to all of you!
