Bidrage med feedbackThis must be the best Char Kway Teow in town. Some trivia: To achieve a smooth texture and do not stick the noodles together, the cook must use oil (lard). The cook (the son fought for us today) has controlled the amount very well so that the noodles were smooth and well separated, but not too oily. The shrimps were fresh. My favorite must be the bean sputs as they were fat and juicy, and simply cooked nicely, not too flimped, still too raw. The cooking process is also a visual pleasure. My only Quip is that the coffee shop is too stubborn and hot, which can be a problem when coupled with the long (up to 1.5 hours) waiting. But waiting is worth it. Also order the deep fried chicken wings to help you keep your hunger pangs. The wings are juicy, without overthrow.
Order the duck, you will not go wrong. The queue to this stable is crazy, at 7 , we order for an hour as the uncle really cook order on order instead of in bulk. At 11.30 a.m. the queue did not stop. We still recommend trying the CKT here if you are in Penang.
From 30. Apr’22, probably the #1 Char Kuey Teow in Penang, this “Si-fu” old uncle still cooks over a coalfire and as we all know you can do this crowd. Must be dedicated to 1 record at a time. It is all experience and timing, he observes how the food looks and smells before it tastes out. There are plenty “wok hei”, and with the 1. You can taste the taste immediately. Looks like the special lard sauce he holds on his wok. It has a great balance with the pigeon, egg, chives, cocksuckers and shrimps. I really hope he'll give it to his next genes.
In short, a wonderful plate of CKT, but not wait the 2 hours. The famous uncle cooks from 12 o'clock and the son continues. The quality is great, you get a plate that satiat your hunger and it comes with shrimps with a beautiful texture. The wok hei is incredibly fragrant and umami! It's not too salty what was good when considering that some of the places here were something too salty for my pleasure. I would recommend before 11:40 a.m. (before opening) or after 3 a.m. (if the lunch rate drops). Rate the wait at least once, especially if you like CKT!
The best char kuey teow I ever had! Lined up for one and a half hours just to try it out! Well, I would say it is worth my time, you definitely want to try it : Note: The uncle will fry one by one, that’s why it takes so long
