Zita is a Genoese Specialty store, of tradition and, what is more, QUALITY, at very low price as an estimator of good food, wherever (and a Genoese by birth , every time I am in Genoa I do my very best to eat there (a place for families, foodies, food lovers, gourmets (and... gourmands The eatery takes its name from the chickpeas flour (plus water and EVOO FARINATA that happens to be one of the Genoese renowned local foods. It is excellent and oven cooked under the consumers ' eyes half a pound or less, plus a glass (or even two... they are small glasses... of Ligurian wine... and here you are. Then, another famous dish TORTA PASQUALINA (made with spinach eggs ; or BACCALA ' ACCOMODATO; not to mention lightly fried freshly caught anchovies... literally to die for (can be eaten one after the other as one does with... cherries . The list can be long... one last recommendation: TROFIE, or any other pasta of the moment, with PESTO, the real Genoese Way, that is PESTO, with boiled French green beans and potatoes... unforgettable, especially when considering the cost no surprise seeing there pensioners, students, tourists on a budget... enjoy! Farinata one can take away easily and eat also if cold... And, do not forget the fabulous Onions Focaccia ...(closed Sundays and Mondays, alas... .
I visited this restaurant with my mum and dad who prefer quiet places. The place was half empty but for us was perfect. There is no English menu and staff doesn’t speak English so we had to be creative and use google translator to communicate. The staff tried their hardest to understand and generally we had a very good service. The tuna was very good!
Belong the staff very organized and very professional, make typical Ligurian dishes, I would dare say really good as the flour. really congratulations, very recommended
