La Colombière - Genève

Staying at the nearby Starling Hotel and went to La Colombière for dinner. The buffet is decent but not spectacular and for many of the items it was difficult to figure out what the ingredients were. Service was good and buffet price was reasonable (22...CHF) and included hot and cold items, as well as desserts. Would definitely return if need to have a relatively quick, decent dinner in Le Grand Saconnex.

This hotel is quite close to the exhibition Centre so served its main purpose. It is primarily a number of rooms on top of an Italian restaurant. My room was an atticconversion. Head height diminished to about 6 inches above the floor as you walk...through the rather small room. I had an Italian pizza that was large but only lukewarm when served. Breakfast consisted of eggs to your liking and either bacon fried or cold meats. At €20 it was a bit of a rip-off. Taste was not great. Staff were hard to find and were more focused on running the restaurant.

The open buffet in this pizzeria/restaurant is amazing! Prices are more than reasonable and the service is friendly, easy going with a big smile. My preferred dish is the pizza, I tried both the Quattro fromagi and the napolitaine... and they were delicious. The crowd...is young, sportive and casual. If you are staying at the starling hotel and need a change from the only restaurant they have, this would be the place to go for a quick bite.
