Coral - Genève

Was the Chinese New Year on the Sat evening, we passed by without a reservation as it was full, the owner prepared one of the working table for us, appreciated they found a solution. Very friendly attentive staff, efficient service. Large menu with lots of choices, vegeterian are well taken care of too. They've this ice-cream rice ball, really special yummy. Tasty hot food at reasonable price. Better to reserve a table there.

Family run restaurant, very friendly staff, service with care. All the food is perfectly cook it 's not oily at all. Quite a lot of choices on the card. I didn 't feel heavy stomach after I ate I lot. The restaurant is not too big but not squeezed, it 's clean. Reservation is recommended.

Chinese restaurants in Europe are often disappointing. This restaurant seems to be family-run and offers Chinese and other Asian cuisine. I had a Tom Yam for a starter, it was OK, although had coconut milk, not a typical Tom Yam ingredient. My main course with tofu was generous and well-spiced, although a bit on the greasy side.

There is a Lunchtime 'Menu ', but if you aren 't a meat eater this will be useless to you. And they won 't change anything for a veggie alternative. I had a Sautéed Noodles with King Prawns/shrimp sadly the Prawns did not taste marinated so were bland next to the flavoursome noodles, which I enjoyed. This costed about 23chf if I remember correct. I would go again, and I 'd have just stir fried noodles with veggies :

Le Coral sits conveniently on the number 14 tram route. This is a good thing because this fine little resto boasts nothing in the way of parking. I have been using Le Coral for take away of late and can confirm that, nothing is lost in the quality of the food or for that matter the service. If you are looking for a giod honest family run chinese, that offers little in the way of suprises but plenty of perfectly prepared dishes, Le Coral is for you. They know what they do best and avoid attempting to over complicate the menu. I have never had a bad meal here. The seating is compact so best book if you plan to eat in the resto. Otherwise, take away is good. I cant give top marks because of location, lack of parking and noise from tram! Everything else is perfect.
