Bidrage med feedbackVeggie and fish restaurant, the menu is short and thoughtful, the presentation of dishes is elegant, their taste is just great. Good wine selection, attentive service, reasonably priced. Overall: highly recommendable!
Visiting vienna for the second time we wanted to try something new beside the traditional austrian restaurants.Per accident we came across the "Steinthal" wich is close to the city center in a peaceful area. Not expecting too, much we were overwhelmed by the quality, taste and the love for detail our meals where served. friendly service and good food for an appropriate price.can highly recommend the Steinthal.
Discovered this restaurant recently. It has a very special flair, young, urban and the food is simply amazing. They offer creative vegetarian creations, fish and delicious desserts. While ordering, we had a chat with the waiter, and he could name in every detail the origins of the ingredients. He told us that, wherever possible, they work with local suppliers and embrace organic products. We were impressed by their commitment to sustainability. Amazing and definitely worth a visit when in town!
Hi everyone, It´s always hard to find good vegetarian food in vienna, but now I finally found a place for that. Very special and interesting things listed in the menu I´ve never heard before and so we tried a lot of different things during that evening. We started with a Snack which was a pitabread with lentil-spread, cucumber salad and joghurt. It was absolutely fantastic and was prepared different and more interesting as we expected it. We ordered a second one :)Then we had goulash combined with an austrian fish - Wels (catfish) instead of meat which will be used normally for goulash. I was suprised how good it was. It nearly tasted like an original goulash, but additionally there was always this special, soft feeling on my tounge when i took a bite from those welspieces in that goulash. Very special, very good, not fishy and it was served with green gnocchi. That´s definitely also a meal for people who normally wants to eat a "normal" goulash with meat. For dessert we had poppyseed-noodles with a selfmade applesauce (which was red cause on that day the fresh delivered apples where red inside). We got this and also some other infos from the cook. That infos showed us that those guys are really working with regional fresh food and if there´s an apple which is red inside then hey, also the applesauce is red :) I really liked that.´Generally nice and friendly staff and we will certainly come again!
We stumbled upon this treasure while walking back to our hotel and since we had already eaten dinner, we stopped in for dessert. We were lucky to meet one of the owners and chef, Daniel Steiner. He told us about how everything is prepared with the very best and the freshest ingredients procured by local merchants. The lime leaf creme brûlée was truly the best creme brûlée that we had ever tried! You must try Steinthal if you are in this area. It is highly recommended.
