Bidrage med feedbackThere are open showers and private changing areas available, and the parking lot is conveniently located nearby. However, do note that the restrooms on-site may not always be in working order. Kids can have a great time playing and running along the beach, which is generally clean, although you might spot a little litter despite the presence of trash bins. Parents should exercise caution when their children enter the water, as rip currents can pose a danger. Fortunately, a lifeguard is stationed nearby for added safety. It's a good idea to bring along a cooler filled with refreshing drinks and cold coffee, but remember that alcohol is not permitted on the beach, so leave the beer behind. That said, some people do drink in the parking lot. A security guard also patrols the area for peace of mind. The beach features two parking lots, A and B, with Lot A being the more popular choice. Grilling is allowed, so feel free to bring your grill if you’d like. Additionally, pets are welcome, so you might see dogs accompanying their owners along the beach. Enjoy your visit!
The beach is great and has plenty of parking available. However, the restrooms close quite early, even before many visitors have left the beach.
During a recent visit, I strolled along a three-mile stretch of Stewart Beach on a Monday morning. Compared to other beaches, it wasn't very inviting or accommodating. The beach is quite natural and has a lot of debris scattered around. The sand is also relatively compact. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented, but they are quite a distance from the beach access near the Homewood Suites hotel. Fortunately, I didn't see any artificial trash, aside from some leftover fruit. The water was pleasant, though. Despite these issues, I still enjoyed my walk along the beach alongside other visitors and the birds.
In Texas for the first time, Galveston Island Beach was awesome! Loved it.
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. So it’s $15 per car to get in which is fine and expected, however, once you get on the beach all you can see is rows and rows of lawn chair and umbrellas that you have to rent to use. We brought our own chairs and a beach tent but you are only allowed to use these items 50+ yards back from the ocean “behind the red line” because they want to make everyone rent their chairs/umbrellas. We ended up leaving immediately and found a FREE public beach (East Beach) with barely any people like 5 minutes away. Stewart Beach is a WASTE OF MONEY and just another company trying to squeeze as much money out of people as possible.
