Katie's Seafood Market - Galveston

In Galveston a day before a cruise and had seen many great reviews on Katie's so made reservations. To be honest, the food quantity was big, but the quality was only okay. I ordered the grouper Caribbean style and it was super over cooked. So much so, I couldn't get through the last portion because it was brick hard. Cilantro lime rice was great. Bama Fish and Shrimp appetizer was really good and I'd definitely recommend it. Service was amazing. Lots of servers and management was constantly checking on tables. Pricing is pretty steep on some meals so just think quality control could be better

Wife and I decided to eat at Katie’s, since we stayed at the hotel, which was next block from there, plus we never eaten there. Walked in and they were busy. The staff were like ants; running around serving patrons. Sat at the bar and ordered the red snapper, but Victoria advised us they were out. We asked for advice and she said the Tile fish. Sure, we shared the Tile fish with a side of Cheesy Grits.Order came and our eye’s couldn’t believe how much food there was. Tile fish laid on top of mash potatoes/ asparagus with a creamy crab stuffing all over. Tile fish had a fried outer shell which was crunchy until the sauce softened it up. The fish tasted so good, no fishy flavor. The Cheesy Grits came in a miniature skillet that would feed 4 people. Tried to make a dent in the Grits, but couldn’t. Food was so awesome.If your in Galveston, you have to try Katie’s. Serves was awesome. Atmosphere was just what you would think of; Deadliest catch.

Absolutely phenomenal! Fish can’t get any fresher. The fish comes directly from the boat to the table. My party of of 10 enjoyed a great meal with great atmosphere. I’ll be coming back.

The hostess was not friendly at all...she didn't make me and my family feel welcomed at all. This is the second time we have tried to eat at this particular restaurant and the second time we have walked out. The hostess is supposed to be the face of the restaurant, and when you are treated so rude, you don't want to recommend this place to anyone. Your hostess needs to work on her people skills!

I loved everything about this place. Only sad I haven 't been sooner! Had the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer.... Oh! My! Goodness! I have died and gone to Heaven. The BEST I have ever had. Loved everything about it!! (Oh, and we got about 7-8 fried tomatoes on top of a mouthwatering bed of Cheesy Bacon Grits!! My wife and I also shared the Seafood Platter and we brought tons home for several more meals!! We had fried fish, fried shrimp (HUGE , fried oysters, Boudain balls, hush puppies, fries, fried fish wings, shrimp frogs coleslaw (I think that was everything, lol There was SO MUCH FOOD!! We will definitely be going back soon. This may actually be our new Date Night spot once a month. I can 't wait to work thru more items on the menu!!! But I will be having the fried green tomatoes everytime!!! ?????
