Osteria Il Mercanto' - GALLARATE

On our way home we found this little treasure. Close to the airport in a little village. Very nice people, very good food, the best ending of a nice Italian trip.

Great family style dining. Fantastic service. We ordered the octopus appetizer, the pasta with spicy tomato sauce, steak and mushrooms. One of the best meals out I've had in years! The server was great about recommending wine too.

This is a very casual but nice wine bar in the center of Gallarate about 10 km. from the Malpensa Airport. The owners of the wine bar are very warm and friendly and will cater to the needs of the guests that arrive either for a drink, or whip up a nice dish of pasta. Just walk in and ask Michele, the owner of the wine bar, to prepare a dish for you with what he has in his fridge at that moment. They have a very nice wine selection, and prepare a buffet aperitif each night so you can snack on something while talking to the other guests that are relaxing after a long days work. They sometimes have music in the summer and have a nice patio where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The price is reasonable and service is very good.

Piacevolissima sorpresa in centro a Gallarate. Un’osteria dove bottiglie di vini pregiati arredano il locale e dove il cibo preparato in sala dallo chef lascia un ottimo ricordo. Ho degustato dei tonnarelli ai frutti di mare,ottimi. E di secondo una fetta di tonno appena scottato e ricoperto da farina di polenta,accostamento particolare e buonissimo. Ambiente conviviale dove è facile scambiare quattro chiacchere con gli avventori. Ci tornerò sicuramente.
