Galiano's Wild1 Cookhouse Thai & Seasonal Cuisine

We had a wonderful Canada Day long weekend on Galiano Island and one of the highlights was the yellow curry at Wild1 Cookhouse. Despite arriving late, we were still served and enjoyed the spicy curry with a side of quality hot sauce. The dish was delicious, packed with fresh vegetables, with the mushrooms and eggplant standing out. We look forward to returning to Galiano and Wild1 soon. Bonus points for playing Al Green while we waited – definitely 5 stars!

Cool place, hidden from the road. All outdoors, nice vibe. Great place to enjoy a drink and meal. Green curry was really nicely flavoured, would definitely order that one again. Pad Thai was good. We would definitely go back. Go early, they can get really busy.

Really excellent Thai food and other imaginative dishes. Locally sourced ingredients. My recent green Thai curry was stuffed with beautifully prepared fresh local vegetables as well as the prawns. The chicken sate was tender and full of flavour. Portions are generous, however it was so good I gobbled it all up. Really happy to see this great place will be offering dinners to go this winter. We used to miss it when it was closed for the season. Best reasonably priced dinner on Galiano

Sure. Wild 1 may seem questionable at first, but it is actually a fantastic 5-star Thai restaurant for eating in or taking out. I ordered the aromatic duck and my friend Rita had the drunken noodles with mussels, prawns, and snapper. We were so impressed with the food that we can't wait to go back, and we won't settle for anything less authentic when we do.
