Outdoor patio dining for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Wonderful service. English spoken but Italian is more fun! Food is excellent and prices . Highly recommend everything about this quiet jewel.

Overall, this was a great restaurant when we consider the wonderful breakfasts and lunches (with friendly wait staff we had on the terrace and the drinks served during the day. However, we had dinner inside at L’Osteria our final night. The setting is very cool like you’re in an old part of the castle. However, the wait staff seemed to be extremely stressed out. They were hurrying around and getting irritated with each other right in front of us. We felt terrible for the poor bus boy/waiter in training(? that the male and female waiters were treating very poorly – his face was literally streaming sweat – we wanted so badly to give him a tip personally to lift his spirits, but were afraid we would get him in trouble! We could feel the stress coming from all of them and it ruined our dinner. I am not sure where the stress was coming from – themselves, a manager, etc? The management here seems to be so focused on giving guests a “5 star” experience that they have taken the Italian joy of life that we all love out of their staff. When you are trying to run a 5 star hotel, I’m sure that’s a fine line to walk – some people expect complete formality from a 5 star hotel – we prefer at least a little personality in our servers, and certainly don’t enjoy seeing them so stressed out!! And the dinner food was very mediocre for the price. The pizza we had for lunch was fantastic though. So...unfortunately, at least for us, there was a very different feel for dinner maybe something unusual was going on that night??

Excellent food, lovingly prepared and served with pride. Also drink the local wine. After all, you are in Chianti
