Shane's Rib Shack - Gainesville

I had boneless wings and my Son had ribs. We both agree that we have had better.

Good barbecue'd chicken, pulled pork and ribs. Wings are pitifully thin and dry-no meat. Peach cobbler is just okay. Not a lot of flavor. Good parking. Service is hit or miss.

BBQ is something that should be hard to mess up, yet some places somehow manage to do just this. FORTUNATELY Shane's is not one of them! I have tried countless BBQ places around the country, many in Georgia, and most of them are good, some terrible, but Shane's is definitely a good one. All of their BBQ dishes are great, not a single one of their side dishes is bad. I've eaten in several of their restaurants in the area, never had a bad experience, some of them even know me by name. I even had them cater my daughter's wedding in Gainesville (everyone was thrilled with their food! I've read here some people complaining about dry smoked chicken. Like this is something unexpected. I have never once had smoked chicken or turkey that ISN'T dry at any BBQ place. Why anyone would want to eat dried smoked chicken is beyond me. That's not what BBQ is about. Have you tried the smoked tofu? I hear it's great! Not. If you want good BBQ try their ribs or pulled pork. Their baked beans, potato salad, and stew are all excellent too.

The food quality has gone down significantly. The bbq was mush, slaw was rancid. My husband and I took one bite, threw it away and left. DO NOT come to this location.
