Bidrage med feedbackI really like the vegan shawarma. the only reason I give him a 4 star is because I think it's a little expensive. unless they have added pommes or something at the same price. in any case. shalom!
I really like the chicken shawarma here, well seasoned and not dry. Falafels aren't bad either. The only thing is that their hummus and tahini comes with an oddly bitter aftertaste. Their dinner entrees come with a good proportion balance of main to sides. I feel like I can get a relatively healthy meal. Prices are reasonable and service is fast.
Affectionately called “Sa-bobby,” Sababa is easily one of my favorite places to eat in Gainesville. It’s consistently great food, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. (For reference, I always get a chicken shawarma or falafel pita. The only thing that I think could be improved upon is that the food is very difficult to eat. What I mean is that it is quite messy, and has juices flying everywhere. Absolutely delicious, but probably a date’s worst nightmare. Also, I think there’s the possibility for some improved ambiance, but I don’t have any suggestions in mind.
We had breakfast at Sababa. The zaatar on bread was ok. The vegan shawarma was good. The outside area is nice, close enough to the street but not too close, and parking was easy.
I say this with love: The employees need a refresher on food safety. Just came back here this evening and left empty handed after I witnessed both workers preparing food without gloves. I normally love the service and the food. I hope the next time I come back they'll be a little more mindful.
