Probably the cheapest Tea House downtown, the central area has a zen ambient, the area with the view to the road is a bit noisy, good service. Also, the location in Trip Advisor is wrong, it sends you to Tv. Calçada do Pico 02, while it's just Calçada do Pico 02, there's a 50 meter difference.
What a little gem! Hidden away but easy to find. Lovely coffee, owner and surroundings. The homemade cakes looked very good too, but time wasn't on our side. Well worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.
We visited this cafe/restaurant 3 times during our 2 week stay in Funchal. The place is beautiful and very interesting. Staff very friendly and helpful. Whether inside or outside it is a very magic and special place. We loved it. The Museum of memories next door was also a woderful and memorable place to visit
This is the place to go and not a lot of Maderians are aware of it! A short walk up the hill from the main part of the town. A lovely place to visit and walk around to view the enormous collection of objects, artifacts, jewelry etc collected and by a local world travelled dignity. He bestowed his 'Villa ' and vast collection to the people of Funchal after many years travelling around the world. They are all are absolutely fascinating including the most amazing collection of ties I 've ever seen. Of course a visit to the Universo de Memorias wouldn 't be the same without chilling out and enjoying a cream tea (scone, cream and strawberry) jam in their little garden. This is the place to go for quiet contemplation and get away for a while from the rush of Funchal way below.
