However, the service was a bit slow; we had to approach the staff to inquire about our food after waiting around 30 minutes, as it hadn't been delivered to our table. I ordered the cardamom bee cold brew and requested oat milk, which turned out to be a mistake. I believe it would have tasted much better on its own.
I used to really enjoy their coffee and food, but recently this place has declined. Last week, we ordered four coffee drinks to go, and it took about 15 minutes to receive them. Today, our group finished our food, and we still didn't have our coffee. It's just not worth it anymore. Food rating: 3/5.
We visited the restaurant around 3 PM, and it was in disarray. There were quite a few dirty dishes left on tables from the lunch rush, and crumbs littered the tables, chairs, and benches. The tables hadn't been cleared, and the floor was covered in trash, clearly needing a good sweep. The staff member who took our order was unfriendly; when I greeted her with a "Hello," she didn't respond and seemed annoyed to be carrying out her duties. While the coffee was enjoyable, the overall cleanliness of the place left much to be desired and was frankly unappetizing.
The mighty have fallen. Been coming to this coffee shop for years. Even supported them through covid. I always place at least 2 orders while I am there but it's sadly time to move on. No one is maintaining this place anymore. Its a true struggle to find a power outlet that works anymore. One of the bathrooms does not have a working towel dispenser. Hasnt worked in years. No one cares. If you get a drink, like iced tea, that has free refills you are completely ignored. You can guarantee more than 1/2 the tables are covered with trash from the last person.
I absolutely love Ascension's product. Their Migas are my favorite breakfast dish from anywhere and I love their coffee not too bitter or acidic, not burnt, yet with bold flavor. But the service here has much to be desired. Management needs to work with their FOH employees on the basics of customer service, like acknowledging a customer when they are waiting at the counter. There are never no less than three or four employees behind the register area, but they tend to ignore you as if they don't work there. They have a mobile ordering concept, so no traditional wait staff, which I like, but if your order is wrong or you need a utensil or anything, it is so hard to get someone to look at you and ask them for something. Great food and drinks, but service could be better!
